Emma Gonzalez’s March for Our Lives speech was one for the history books

You’re going to remember this speech for a long period of time.

At Saturday’s March For Our Lives in Washington, D.C., Parkland activist Emma Gonzalez provided an address that was part stirring remembrance, part silence. It lasted for 6 minutes and 20 seconds — the quantity of time it considered a shooter to take the lives of 17 of her schoolmates.

“In a little over 6 minutes, 17 of our good friends were drawn from us, 15 were hurt, and everybody, definitely everybody, was permanently changed,” she stated. “Everyone who existed comprehends. Everybody who has actually been touched by the cold grip of weapon violence comprehends.”
